The Kalevala [English]
The Kalevala [Finnish]
The Kalevala is the national epoch of Finland; a wonderful epic poem with battling wizards, valiant heroes and beautiful maidens. Finnish was one of the inspirations for J.R.R. Tolkien's Elvish language, and the Kalevala was one of the source materials for the Lord of the Rings.
